On Monday, the Pentagon confirmed that Iran launched 14 ballistic missiles targeting Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a direct response to the U.S. bombing of three of Iran’s nuclear facilities over the weekend.

Officials from the defense sector reported that the recent attack, utilizing both short- and medium-range missiles, resulted in no casualties or damage being reported. Al Udeid stands as one of the largest American military installations in the Middle East, usually accommodating between 5,000 and 10,000 personnel.

President Donald Trump announced the strike on his Truth Social account, asserting that “hardly any damage was done.” According to him, air defenses from the U.S. and its allies successfully intercepted 13 out of 14 missiles, with the last one deemed not to pose a threat.

Iran has conducted a missile launch in response to the unprecedented operation involving B-2 stealth bombers, which targeted the nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan in Iran. Trump described the earlier strike as a “spectacular military success.”

Recent satellite imagery revealed that Al Udeid was devoid of visible aircraft, while U.S. Navy assets had shifted from Bahrain—a move aligned with broader strategies to deter potential Iranian retaliation.

On Sunday, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine stated that U.S. forces had implemented “proactive” measures to ensure the safety of personnel. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth emphasized that the operation was “intentionally limited” and refuted claims that the U.S. was embarking on another prolonged engagement in the Middle East.

Trump asserted that Iran had provided prior notice of Monday’s attack and implied that the strike could indicate that Iran has “gotten it out of their system.”

In a recent development, the U.S. State Department has issued a global caution alert, advising Americans traveling overseas to be aware of potential demonstrations and to exercise heightened vigilance worldwide.
